Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol. TCP/IP are the protocols that allow data to be transferred around the world over the internet. TCP enables hosts to establish connections with each other and to exchange streams of data, and IP defines how data is bundled into packets to be transferred across networks using TCP or UDP.
